Heritage House is always on the look out for caring people who are interested in becoming Direct Support Professionals. We have opportunities in our residential, day program and Community Engagement services. Full and part time positions available based on your availability. We need all applicants to have some weekend availability.

We are looking for team players to provide support services to enhance the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Training provided, experience preferred but not required, excellent communication skills a must. We need individuals who can provide a PROFESSIONAL and NUTURING environment for our clients.

Position Overview:

Direct support professionals work directly with developmentally disabled individuals through assisting with personal hygiene, ensuring a safe and healthy environment, implementing individualized client programs and plans, assisting with ADLs, documenting daily on the behaviors and outcomes of each individual, and helping individuals to lead full and rich lives.

Tasks:

-Ability to recognize and properly react to medical and other emergencies

-Ability to effectively communicate verbally and written

-Ability to adapt to changing situations and needs

-Assist with implementation of daily program structure

-Provide direct supervision of assigned group of individuals, ensuring safe environment

-Provide direct support to behaviors

-Document daily on each individuals abilities, needs and outcomes

-Implement daily activity plans designed to reinforce desired behaviors

-Implement crisis intervention strategies/behavioral plans as needed

-Ensure home is maintained and clean
