Georgia Services
In 2015, Heritage House officially expanded operations to the state of Georgia, where we are licensed by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) to serve Region 4. As a rural area, Region 4 is sorely underserved and Heritage House is proud to provide much needed services, including residential, day services and transportation to individuals in that area. Since beginning our operations in Georgia, Heritage House has grown to serve a variety of individuals who thrive and grow through participation in our programming. Through dedicated staff and a person-centered approach, Heritage House has exceeded the expectations of individuals, their families, Support Coordinators and even State Officials.
Georgia Day Campus
The Heritage House Georgia Day Campus is a vibrant center for learning, skill development, and community engagement for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Located on four acres in Adel, Georgia, the campus provides person-centered programs that promote independence, community inclusion, and the achievement of individual goals.
The campus features dedicated spaces for educational, vocational, recreational, and administrative services. At the heart of the campus is the Heritage House Activity Center, where individuals participate in meaningful activities that encourage personal growth, social connection, lifelong learning, and community involvement.
Volunteer opportunities play an important role in campus programming, allowing individuals to give back through community service while building skills, confidence, and valued social roles.
The Administrative and Education Building offers classroom space for pre-vocational training, educational programming, and skill development designed to support greater independence and community participation. Programs are tailored to each individual’s interests, strengths, and personal goals.
Heritage House continues to invest in the future through plans for a new state-of-the-art Activity Center featuring expanded classroom space, a conference center, a sensory integration room, and recreational amenities, including a half-court basketball facility.
A dedicated transportation fleet ensures access to educational programs, volunteer opportunities, healthcare services, recreational activities, and community experiences.

Residential Services
Heritage House Residential Services provide safe, comfortable, and person-centered homes where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities can live independently, build relationships, and thrive in their communities.
Heritage House operates two community-based residential homes in Adel, Georgia, each serving four individuals in a family-style environment that promotes privacy, dignity, choice, and community inclusion. Residents are encouraged to actively participate in decisions about their daily routines, personal goals, household responsibilities, and community involvement.
Trained Direct Support Professionals provide individualized assistance and skill-building in areas such as personal care, meal preparation, housekeeping, money management, medication support, health and wellness, communication, and other daily living activities. Supports are tailored to each individual’s needs, strengths, and goals.
Our residential programs focus on developing practical life skills, increasing independence, and promoting self-advocacy through positive, person-centered supports. Heritage House is committed to creating welcoming home environments where individuals feel valued, supported, and empowered to live fulfilling lives.

Small Group Activities
Heritage House's Community Access Day Support program provides meaningful opportunities for individuals to build relationships, develop skills, and actively participate in their communities. Through small-group activities, individuals engage in educational experiences, volunteer opportunities, recreational outings, health and wellness programs, cultural events, and community activities that align with their interests and personal goals. Groups are designed to encourage social interaction, strengthen communication skills, expand social networks, and foster meaningful community connections. Individuals are encouraged to make choices about activities and participate in planning experiences that are important to them. With individualized support from Heritage House staff, participants gain confidence, build independence, develop natural supports, and experience valued roles within their communities while enhancing their overall quality of life.
Skill Building
Heritage House provides individualized skill-building supports that promote independence, dignity, personal choice, and community inclusion. Individuals are encouraged to develop and strengthen daily living skills based on their unique goals and support needs. Training and support may include personal hygiene, grooming, meal planning and preparation, communication skills, social interaction, and conflict resolution. Through hands-on instruction, coaching, and positive support, individuals build the skills and confidence needed to increase independence, make informed choices, and actively participate in their homes and communities.
Creating Connections
Heritage House is dedicated to helping individuals build meaningful relationships and actively participate in their communities. Through person-centered planning, individuals are encouraged to explore interests, make choices, and engage in activities that promote social connection, independence, and an enhanced quality of life. Community activities may include: Movie outings Dining at local restaurants Bowling and recreational activities Community fairs, festivals, and seasonal events Ice cream socials and community gatherings Shopping and personal errands These experiences provide opportunities to build friendships, expand social networks, develop confidence, and strengthen community connections. Heritage House staff offer individualized support to help each person participate in community life in ways that are meaningful, enjoyable, and aligned with their personal goals.
Giving Back
Heritage House is committed to fostering meaningful community involvement through partnerships with local churches, organizations, and businesses. These partnerships create opportunities for individuals to build relationships, develop new skills, and make positive contributions within their communities. Through volunteer and service opportunities tailored to individual interests and goals, participants gain valuable experiences, expand their social connections, and develop a greater sense of purpose and belonging. By encouraging active community participation, Heritage House helps individuals strengthen independence, build confidence, and experience the rewards of being valued and contributing members of their communities.
